Air bridge to the world

Niue’s airport was opened in 1971 and since 2005, a weekly return air service has been provided by Air New Zealand.

This service is based on an agreement between the airline and the Government of Niue that is renegotiated every three years. The certainty of this air service has been crucial in encouraging longer term business commitments and the exploration of tourism potential on Niue.

Reef Shipping provides a cargo service to and from New Zealand every three to four weeks supplying essential goods and fuel to the island. Niue has no public transport system.
